Alpine Space?

Mobility and Alps – in the public, these two words are often related to negative issues such as transalpine transport, noise, air pollution, endless traffic jams during high-season-weekends etc. This is one of the reasons why presently there is considerable interest among planners and other experts as well as interested people from the public in integrating land use and transport planning. Primarily to reduce the negative impacts which are deriving from rising congestion and higher costs for living and daily mobility needs.

Fine. But why this blog? The objective is to create an open plattform for discussing issues related to spatial planning and traffic engineering in alpine regions. “Alpine” is not limited to the Alps in Europe, it stands for all mountainous regions in the world. Therefore, let’s start…
